Chileda constantly seeks to offer new approaches to the daily care, program and leisure activities offered to those whom we extend our support. Our employees are dedicated to providing the very best care and education to our clients. In return, we provide our staff with the tools and ongoing training they need to do their job most effectively.

If Chileda is to preserve its reputation as a national model of care and treatment for developmentally disabled children, it is imperative that we stay abreast of current issues in all professional areas. Our desire isn't merely to follow current trends, but to lead in identifying new approaches to education and treatment that will benefit those who are developmentally disabled.

In addition to gathering information via books, magazines, the Internet and other sources, employees also participate in in-service (in-house) workshops and receive external training. In-service workshops are held monthly and cover a wide range of topics for the professional development of our staff.

Some in-services are given by Chileda's resident experts, while others are presented by individuals from outside our organization. Although these workshops may be of specific interest to Chileda staff, we welcome all interested parties to join us for any in-service you choose.

Off-site training is also a necessary part of our ongoing education. We encourage our professional staff to attend seminars, symposiums and other forums that offer advanced education that will expand their knowledge and benefit the children whom we serve.

As Chileda continues to grow and adapt to changing challenges and demands, we will not stray from our belief that quality services depend upon the continued growth and development of a trained and competent staff.
