Since
1993, Shari has served the Children of Chileda as our director of
behavior services. In this position, she is responsible for developing
individualized programs that enhance living and learning based on the
unique behaviors of each client.
Shari
graduated from University of Wisconsin-La Crosse with a bachelor’s
degree in Psychology. Since that time, she has continued to build her
knowledge base, having completed 80 hours of certified education in
TEACCH training. She is also a master-level instructor of Nonviolent
Crisis Intervention and Potential Workplace-Related Violence through
the Crisis Prevention Institute of Brookfield, WI.
She
regularly shares her expertise at forums that focus on the care and
treatment of individuals with autism. Recent speaking engagements
include the Midwest Symposium of Autism and the Autism Society of
Wisconsin annual conference. She also serves as a guest lecturer to
students who are enrolled in the Community Developmental Disabilities
Associate Program at Western Wisconsin Technical College and special
education teachers at University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.
