News Releases
Chileda serves children and young adults, ages 6-21, from across the United States
who have struggled to find success within other service and support models. Our
program began in Steven’s Point, Wisconsin, in 1973. Since that
time, Chileda has evolved into a nationally recognized and respected program for
students with exceptional needs and exceptional potential.
Chileda is an accredited
agency, maintaining the highest standards of accreditation through the Council on
Quality and Leadership. Through the years, our staff has listened to students, parents,
and other professionals to identify and implement evidence based strategies that
show the most promise for unlocking student potential.
Our Motto
UNLOCKING POTENTIAL
We are committed to recognizing, unlocking, and celebrating
the potential within each and every person who lives, learns, and works at Chileda.
Our Mission
To provide all children and young adults who receive our supports with
the opportunity to develop skills in functional adaptive behaviors leading toward
successful community involvement.
Our Vision
Through discovering and utilizing “cutting
edge technology”, we will lead the development of programmatic and management processes
to meet the needs of our students. Through development and implementation of a continuum
of services, we will support growth, meet challenges, and celebrate successes in
all living and learning environments. And as we continue to grow within our core
competencies, we strive to share our living and learning resources with the larger
community through education, collaboration, and consultation.
Our Philosophy
To
support children and young adults with developmental disabilities to learn and apply
functional living skills to transition successfully to less restrictive environments.
All services provided by Chileda are delivered in a manner that respects the rights
of all individuals within a caring and supportive environment. All education programs
are individually designed by the individual student and professional staff to encourage
independence and personal success. This is accomplished by coordinating all aspects
of evaluation, planning and implementation of meaningful and functional activities. |
