Welcome to Chileda. We are a home, school, and care center for
children and young adults who have dentified cognitive challenges and interfering
behaviors.
For over 35 years, the professional staff of Chileda have been committed
to the progressive education and personal empowerment of children with these disabilities.
We help our clients to realize their fullest potential and offer hope for a bright
future.

Our mission commitment
affirms that: All children
and young adults receiving supports from Chileda will develop skills in functional
adaptive behaviors that lead toward successful community involvement. |
These key words further define our purpose:
- Supports include residential,
vocational, respite, outreach, evaluation, day school, summer school and emergency placement.
- Functional adaptive behaviors include: self-help, self-determination,
community use, academic, communication, vocational, leisure, home living and social
skills.
- Community involvement is the opportunity to socialize, recreate
and work in inclusive environments.
Chileda is licensed to provide care for up to 48 students in a comprehensive residential treatment program, as well as providing day school.services for local students.
We work closely with social service agencies, educational and legal professionals,
and other concerned individuals to assure that the special needs of each student
are
met.
Each individualized,student plan encompasses dignity, respect, and compassion. Chileda's
nearly 200-person team shares the opinion that all students have the capacity for
growth and development, and that each child has the potential to be a productive
member of our community. We believe that all individuals have the right to
be treated fairly and with honor, and that the virtues of kindness and generosity are invaluable.
